(This was the Dear Gloria letter I tried to post in the Dear Gloria page in FB. Turned out to be too long so this became an entry here).

Dear Gloria,

I was one of the students during EDSA 2 pressing for Prez Estrada to resign, we believe then he betrayed the country with his corruption and excesses and we believe then that you would do good since you’re an economist and a presidential daughter. I thought you would carry on the legacy of your father. Why Not? We were also supporting a just constitutional succession in lieue of the sitting prez’s corruption…

I look back after 10 years in disbelief, yes disbelief but not shame.

It was the right thing to do then. But the disbelief came in when I found out you’re a thousand times worse than you’re predecessor. You cheated with impunity, you killed people with impunity, you LIED with impunity. IMPUNITY is the definitive word for you despite your PUNY stature.

If there was one thing that you may have succeeded in doing is to create a lot of people like me in my generation CYNICAL of the government.

I am now therefore afraid of old age. How would I be like after 30 years? Look at Gary Olivar now. I’ve read he was a contemporary of the likes of Edgar Jopson during the Marcos’ Martial Law rule and that he was a fiery and an idealistic activist. How come he now works as a spin master and a puppet for you, ass wiping the scandals of you’re ass-wipe rule remains a mystery.

Dear Gloria, Goodbye but not Good riddance yet. You’re back again as a lawmaker. I hope history judge you fairly and squarely. I also hope you choke on your next meal.

My usual morning habit is to watch the morning news. This morning was strange.

On punto por punto, the topic was the never-ending Marcos wealth and Human Rights violations of that deplorable area.

Topic as well was how the PCGG Commissioner dances with the enemies and how they’re trying to forge a SETTLEMENT.

Now settling is a bad idea. That means we get a portion, even if sizeable, of the Ill gotten wealth but the criminal aspect will be dropped.

What will the world say? That we waited all this long only to say there were no human rights violations? So what about the torture victims and the desaparecidos? Figment of imagination?

With all due respect Mr. PCGG ‘Consumisyon’ Abcede, quit the talk. You are the Government Lawyer so act like one and not like a Don King or Bob Arum.

And Mr. Taberna, you are correct, settling may be good as the country needs the money now for food. But we don’t live on food alone. We have waited a long time, we still can wait. But if we settle then we are condemned as a country without a past. And a country that will sail on without a future.

Aroyosium: A major research institution has just announced the discovery of the densest element yet known to science.

The new element has been named Aroyosium. Aroyosium has one neutron, 23 assistant neutrons, 15 deputy neutrons, and 76 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 114. These particles are held together by dark particles called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. The symbol of Aroyosium is TL (Thief-Lon).

Aroyosium’s mass actually increases over time, as morons randomly interact with various elements in the atmosphere and become assistant deputy neutrons within the Aroyosium molecule, leading to the formation of isodopes.

This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientists to believe that Aroyosium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as Critical Morass.

When catalyzed with money, Aroyosium activates LKadnausium, an element that radiates orders of magnitude more energy, albeit as incoherent noise, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons as Aroyosium.

My wife ( a self avowed anti-social networking website individual) finally heeded my advice and finally let me set-up her facebook account. Reasons? She’s the only internet user in her family who’s still “disconnected.” Also it’s a good way for her HS, College, and previous colleagues to touch base with her.

It was only last saturday.

This morning she sent me an sms, she said she opened her email and got bombarded with a deluge of requests and updates. She checked her email and got equally overwhelmed from almost about everything including the layout. She says she got the unbearable feeling of being responsible for reading updates from her friends (from the important to nonsensical) she just felt tired thinking about it. So know what she did? She went to settings and finally deactivated the account.

Last night was wednesday.

I went into hysterics reading her sms she’s wondering why.

My wife is not really that unfriendly; she just wants a peaceful, uncomplicated and uncluttered life. And her yahoo and gmail email accounts.

I really love my wife.

Fight Day: Firepower Aftermath

It was bloody well fought, all hail King PacMan!

Fortunately no one took my offer of a bet but nonetheless it was even better! 12 rounds of non stop action that validates the PacMan’s title as Pound for Pound the best fighter in the world. It also somewhat vindicates Antonio Margarito in some ways; that it’s possible to pulp beat Miguel Cotto.

So where does the PacMan go from here? I hope he reconsiders entering politics. He’d be beaten there like Miguel Cotto.
