I just wrote 30 some weeks ago this June.
No not yet dead, though being 30 is like that proverbial headline for somebody who just died.
Nothing’s changed. Still drinking that same old brand of beer, reading the same old news (although the latest strings were steamy huh? Thanks to Hayden Kho for providing the nation with his sick outings : ) )
Was sick lately because of LPR or Laryngopharyngeal Reflux so really have to modify diet now. It means no more caffeine, alcoholic beverage, and other necessary bad food.
No smoking now, and control of beer intake is in place. Geezus…
Everything’s different now. Looking forward to the next 30 then. If I was a bloody optimist I’d sing birthday songs. Then again I wasn’t.

postscript
The King of Pop just died. Long Live his Music…
What a waste!
I’m not sure why would they would just loosely adapt Angel’s and Demons, as in really loose, when the material is already fine, a certified blockbuster.
The only moment we enjoyed was the anti-matter explosion. Me and Lis faces were long throughout the movie, thinking we were ripped off. So that’s it, no more of Dan Brown’s film adaptations, just stick to the novels.
It’s a real no-brainer. Don’t watch it. Save your money.
Fast. It wasn’t Boxing; it was slaughter in the first degree.
2 knockdowns in 1st round. 1 and final knockdown on the 2nd round, that nasty left connecting exactly with 8 ticks to go. One for the records definitely.
And the fight commentator was right (not Filipino commentators) when he said it after Hatton lay soundly asleep at the center ring: Manny Pacquiao just cemented his legacy.
No doubt about it. With that crushing performance, Manny Pacquiao and “All time great” could now be used again in the same sentence.
Freddie Roach was right all along. And where the hell was “The Greatest Trainer in The World” Floydie Sr after the fight? Shame on him he let his assistant Mr Beard to face the media. Surely Floydie Sr doesn’t want to see the smirk on the face of Roach and eating all the things he said.
Now with the return of Floydie Jr out of his so called retirement (or the lure of more Money) it will be seen who will be called the Pound for Pound King.
Floydie Sr will be returning to the welterweight scene versus Juan Manuel Marquez, PacMan’s erstwhile nemesis.
I have little hopes for Floydie Jr. That brat is a lazy fighter on top of the ring. I doubt if he can withstand Marquez on their scheduled July outing. Only if Marquez can get past Floydie Jr, will he get his rematch with the PacMan.
That’s more exciting than Floydie brat versus PacMan.
It was a quiet Sunday morning today, I have to get things done and have my weekly haircut. We also have to be with the early morning church service.
Today of all days is the Batlle of East vs West. PacMan Vs Hitman.
Now sitting in the barber’s chair, I was surprised most of the regulars, even my barber seems to be betting on the hitman. I mean I bet they haven’t seen most of Hatton’s fights so why bet on a fighter they barely knew?
And then it was clear, they mentioned his previous fiasco, Manny Pacquiao as Mukhang Pera. Most of the common people were disillusioned with what had happened.
Well however they’re making a big mistake. A BIG mistake. If they could only see the real deal without involving any emotions (you’re betting on a fight and you’re emotional? This is disaster) surely they would bet on the PacMan. Hatton is a 1 dimensional fighter. If they’ll believe with Floydie Sr well, it’s like being taken for a ride by that self confessed “Greatest Trainer in the World”. Should be greatest conman in the world. There’s no way Hatton can change dramatically to counter the good footwork, speed and power of PacMan. And for Mr. Floydie Sr, speed will be the single biggest factor in this game. Yes Manny may be smaller but with that speed, surely Hatton will be down within 4 rounds. Imagine being hit by a car at 5kph versus being hit by a bike at 200kph. That’s speed Mr. Floydie Sr. (my pessismistic side says it will go the distance, PacMan by Unanimous Decision).
All of these were all in just in my head. Common sense dictate you don’t dare argue with your barber, especially when he holds the razor near your jugular.
Well let’s see what round will the Hitman call it quits. Or will he sleeps…
I was downloading some stuff for housebud and fellow smear, mr. pepe prof smear; mp3s from smashing pumpkins, superdrag, etc., and ost’s from great expectations and empire records when I remembered to download my last week’s LSS “As Strong As The Sun.” I thought of introducing Lis to beach music and letting her listen to it. Her verdict was: “Ballroom music yan Dadi?”
And I thought, Ballroom music? Then I let her listen to Ever After, she said it was a more upbeat Ballroom music.
Hell I thought, she had a point with the first song, it did sound like a swing number for a prom. Is the music industry repackaging stuff and relabelling it like some fashion trends that tend to resurface, albeit with a different name? Or did my wife just outwit me this time?

Kudos to Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire and Brian “Hawaiian Punch” Villoria, certainly made my day with their impressive wins. And although Manny Pacquiao, aka “Money Pacman” has been weighed and found wanting with his shifting principles; especially when it comes to (more) money, word of honor, and (lack of) delicadeza, I’ll still be rooting for him like the way I root for Kimi Raikonnen, San Antonio Spurs, and Ginebra San Miguel.
And if he loses it’s ok. He’s just like any other athlete today whose only concern is more money. That fiasco with Solar Sports and ABS-CBN showed his true face and color. Shame on him and the lip service to nationalism thru his stinky songs.
But I’ll still root for him come May 3rd. All Hail Money Pacquiao!
